Dr. Ursiny grew up in Vermont, majored in mechanical engineering as an undergrad, and completed medical school at the University of Vermont. His surgical training consisted of internship and residency at Harvard with one year in general surgery followed by five years of urologic surgery training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. Following residency, Dr. Ursiny remained on faculty at Mass General before moving to Portland with his wife, children, and animals.
Dr. Ursiny’s clinical practice focuses on minimally invasive and robotic surgery for benign conditions and cancers of the prostate, kidneys, adrenal gland, ureters and bladder. Dr. Ursiny sees many patients with urinary dysfunction, kidney stones, urinary reconstruction, and genitourinary cancers.
Dr. Ursiny has authored peer-reviewed journal articles, presented research at regional and national meetings, and is involved in medical device and healthcare innovation. He is a member of the American Urological Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Ursiny and his family enjoy the Maine outdoors running, surfing, skiing, biking, playing hockey, and traveling.
